English at Saint Patrick’s is based around the theme of Mario. We want to demystify writing and get rid of the myth that ‘you’re naturally good at writing or you’re not’ by striping writing back to a game context. Just like in Mario, children have specific targets and goals to meet and will succeed when they achieve them. Simple!
