Special Events and Competition for all.
At St. Patrick’s we are firm believers in the six values of the games: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, determination and teamwork and we use both of PE lessons and competitions as opportunities for our children to develop and demonstrate these values.
Throughout the school year we provide a variety of competitions at different levels to allow all children to experience competitive sport in an environment that is safe, supportive and challenging.
Within in school we have house competitions that are open to all children to compete in during lunchtimes supported by our year 5 sports leaders. House competitions planned for this year include basketball, cricket, cross country, dodgeball and football. Check out the finals of house football competition that was part of whole school World Cup Day.
We are also an active member of the Rushcliffe School Sports Partnership and take part in a variety of events and competitions in different sports throughout the year and we have particular success in both year 4 and year 6 indoor athletics events.
Our aim is for all children in year 5 and 6 to have the opportunity during the year to represent the school at an external competition, planned events this year include athletics, basketball, climbing, dodgeball and handball.
