Pupil Voice

We have a ‘Pupil Voice’ team at St Patrick’s Academy. A boy and a girl are chosen from each of classes 1-6 as representatives of children’s views about school life.

The Pupil Voice team changes each year. It meets about 4 times a term with the Headteacher.

Each meeting is to talk about the suggestions that have been put by children on the Pupil Voice board during between meetings.

Every suggestion is considered very carefully before a decision is taken about whether the request is to be granted or not.

The results of the discussions are put on the Pupil Voice board for all to see. They are also read out by the Pupil Voice Team Leaders at the House Team Assemblies held every three weeks.

Some examples of successful requests are:-

  • Tomato ketchup with chips
  • Street dance club
  • Cake sale to raise money for a charity
  • Judo club
  • Better quality writing pens in class
  • A cinema club
  • More clocks around school

There are many requests which have to be turned down such as longer playtimes or Art competitions every Tuesday and Wednesday!!!

As well as being displayed in school on the Pupil Voice board, and announced at the House Team Assembly, the decisions will be put on the website in the Pupil Voice section, so keep checking it out!!
